Rita Kok

Weaving in space

The transparent textures woven by Rita Kok are the result of continuous experimentation on her loom.  Playing with the spatial possibilities of warp and weft, she transforms a craft into an art form.  Shadows caused by hanging the woven structures at a slight distance from the wall accentuate the delicate interplay of threads, light and space.

“Usually, structure and tenderness don’t go together, but in your work they do.”  (Henk van Os)
